About PCA
We are El Dorado Union High School District's Early College charter high school! We are a small school offering a blended learning environment in which students attend and learn on campus, as well as having the option of working independenty from home. Our school offers a comprehensive, individualized, and rigorous approach to high school educaiton in a flexible setting. Enrollment is available to high school students within El Dorado County, as well as adjacent counties.
Our core academic classes are taught by highly-qualified EDUHSD teachers, who are experts in their subject areas. Students at PCA also participate in dual enrollment classes where they can earn college credit and high school credit at the same time, completing transferrable college courses for FREE! We offer closed college courses directly on our campus, and students also have access to complete additional courses to meet a variety of college and career goals. Students also have access to EDUHSD athletics, events, and enrollment in up to 2 courses (pending availablity) at their comprehensive high school of residence (El Dorado, Ponderosa, Union Mine, or Oak Ridge).
Our students receive college and career planning advice through a series of guidance lessons and individualized meetings throughout high school. We also offer a robust internship program, where students have the opportunity to get real-world experience in the workforce with the support of our Workplace Learning Coordinator.
